Under<\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> <a class=\"moF-internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/mof.gov.ae\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Ministerial-Decision-no.-243-of-2025-on-the-Electronic-Invoicing-System.pdf\">Ministerial Decision No. 243 of 2025<\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the Ministry of Finance has introduced the Electronic Invoicing System, and it&#8217;s not optional. What most businesses haven&#8217;t clocked yet is that the deadline isn&#8217;t really 2027, it&#8217;s the point at which your accounting software has to already be routing invoices through an accredited provider. If your current platform isn&#8217;t set up for that, the fix isn&#8217;t a software update, it&#8217;s a decision.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"margin: 0 0 20px 0;\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; border-bottom: 3px solid #90C136; padding-bottom: 6px; font-size: 26px; font-weight: 400; color: #ffffff; letter-spacing: 0.7px; line-height: 46.8px; font-family: 'Neuzeit Grotesk Regular', Arial, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\nWhat the mandate actually requires<br \/>\n<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the new system, covered invoices can&#8217;t just be issued and emailed. They have to be generated in XML using the PINT-AE format, routed through an accredited third party called an<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a class=\"mof-internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/mof.gov.ae\/en\/services\/accreditation-of-einvoicing-service-providers\/\"> ASP (Accredited Service Provider)<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and reported to the Federal Tax Authority as part of a five-party model that Zoho&#8217;s glossary explains as the<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a class=\"mof-internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.zoho.com\/ae\/books\/academy\/uae-einvoicing-glossary.html\"> 5 Corner model<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> built on<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a class=\"mof-internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.zoho.com\/ae\/books\/academy\/uae-einvoicing-glossary.html\"> Peppol<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your accounting software either connects to an ASP or it doesn&#8217;t.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The dates:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Large businesses<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (annual revenue of AED 50 million or more): ASP appointment deadline <\/span><b>31 July 2026<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, mandatory reporting from <\/span><b>1 January 2027<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>All other businesses<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (revenue below AED 50 million): ASP appointment deadline <\/span><b>31 March 2027<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, mandatory reporting from <\/span><b>1 July 2027<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Government entities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: ASP appointment deadline 31 March 2027, mandatory reporting from 1 October 2027<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The question your current accounting software has to answer<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you&#8217;re a large business, you&#8217;ve got to answer one question honestly: is your current accounting platform accredited as an ASP under new rule? If the answer is no, or &#8220;we&#8217;re not sure yet&#8221;, that&#8217;s your signal to start looking now, not in Q2 2026 when everyone else is doing the same thing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Accreditation isn&#8217;t a light process. It requires Peppol membership, UAE company registration, technical capability for PINT-AE, and data security compliance. Some providers will get accredited late. Some won&#8217;t at all. Zoho has<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a class=\"mof-internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/zbooks.trainercentralsite.in\/session\/navigating-uae-einvoicing-with-zoho-books-990742949010#\/home\"> publicly confirmed it is working towards ASP accreditation<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under the Ministry of Finance&#8217;s framework, and has published its own detailed<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a class=\"mof-internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.zoho.com\/ae\/books\/academy\/uae-einvoicing-glossary.html\"> UAE eInvoicing glossary<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0sourced directly from MoF decisions and guidelines, which is a stronger signal of readiness than most platforms have offered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This also isn&#8217;t Zoho&#8217;s first e-invoicing rollout. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a class=\"mof-internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.zoho.com\/ae\/books\/\">Zoho Books<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0already handles government-mandated e-invoicing in Saudi Arabia (ZATCA Phase 2 approved), India (GST e-invoicing since 2023), Kenya, Australia, Mexico, and more recently Belgium and France. Every rollout has followed the same pattern: understand the local mandate, build the format compliance in, connect to whatever the authority requires. The UAE build sits on years of doing this in other markets.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"margin: 0 0 20px 0;\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; border-bottom: 3px solid #90C136; padding-bottom: 6px; font-size: 26px; font-weight: 400; color: #ffffff; letter-spacing: 0.7px; line-height: 46.8px; font-family: 'Neuzeit Grotesk Regular', Arial, sans-serif;\"><br \/>\nWhat that means practically for your business<br \/>\n<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you switch to Zoho Books before your phase&#8217;s deadline, the ASP question is largely handled. What&#8217;s left is configuration: making sure your invoice templates, TRN handling, tax category mapping, and customer master data are set up correctly for how the FTA validator will actually check what you submit. That&#8217;s the work that catches people out.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What to do this quarter<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Confirm which revenue band you fall into (above or below AED 50 million)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check whether your current accounting software provider is on the ASP path. If the answer isn&#8217;t a clear yes, keep looking<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you&#8217;re a large business, treat 31 July 2026 as the real deadline. Vendor selection, contract sign-off, data migration, and setup can eat six months easily<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whichever platform you land on, treat the setup as a proper implementation.
